Happiness comes of the capacity to feel deeply, to enjoy simply, to think freely, to risk life, to be needed.

Granny and Grandad in Oz!

We have been having a fab time with G&G. We headed south to Margaret River for three nights and stayed near Hamelin Bay. It is a gorgeous bay that is famous for it's lovely beach and it's giant sting rays. We stayed in a secluded cabin in the forest. To learn more about this area check out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hamelin_Bay,_Western_Australia

While down south we also visited the historic Leeuwin Lighthouse:http://www.lighthouse.net.au/lights/WA/Cape%20Leeuwin/Cape%20Leeuwin.htm

We did a daytrip to rottnest island where the land lovers got to enjoy the crystal clear waters and friendly fish of the turquoise sea. http://www.rottnestisland.com/en/default.htm

Back in Perth we have been enjoying the sunshine and temperatures in the high 30's! Today it was over 40 degrees. To be in the know:

Due to the heat wave the pool is popular andthe kids and grandparental units were in there until dark this evening. Yesterday we checked out Cotts beach for a wee bit of heat reprieve...you can see if you can find us on the live web cam:

We have also been to the aquatic centre and checked out all of the Aussie underwater creatures. For those of you who have been to AQWA you will be sad to know that the giant smiley faced Eagle Ray that swam with the sharks & sea turtles in the giant tank that you ride through died...

We are trying not to exhaust ma and pa, but they are proving to be very useful around here and we may not let them return to the northern hemisphere. Grandad is very good with the dishes and clothes hanging...and Velmba LOVES to iron...both are great with the children. Hmmm...the granny flat is sounding like a good plan! Bronto is grandads little shadow and will only eat porridge cooked by him. Notice the pic of B in the blue chair sporting grandads glasses and reading his book. Very sweet.
